2020 Annual General Meeting
The National Zero Waste Council’s AGM will take place Tuesday, November 10 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm (PST). All Council members and supporters are invited to join the Management Board to hear about the Council’s 2020 activities and achievements, to meet the 2021 Management Board and then to participate in a Members Forum to learn and discuss how to “stem the tide on plastics waste” through important collaboration initiatives across Canada.
The AGM will be virtual and Zoom information will be provided upon registration. Due to evolving concerns with COVID-19, in-person participation is no longer available but please join other Council members, virtually, in this important annual event.

Zero Waste Conference
As in previous years, the AGM precedes the 2020 Zero Waste Conference on November 13. This year we celebrate the tenth year anniversary of the Zero Waste Conference. The 2020 Conference will bring together a large virtual audience in a program of dynamic sessions and curated content to explore how we can prevent waste and accelerate Canada’s transition to a circular economy in this unique moment in time. The conference will open with a keynote by Beau Lotto, Director of the Lab of Misfits, who will speak to the power of creativity and innovation to respond to a rapidly changing world. Other keynotes include Suzanne Lee from Biofabricate, Architect Michael Green and Scientist Chelsea Rochman. Also in the program is a session on building back better – instead of returning to the past we turn our head, minds and hands to building a new future – one that is circular in nature designing out waste and pollution in the first place, keeping products and materials in continual cycles of use and reuse, and regenerating natural systems. The Conference will close with a keynote from Katie Treggiden who will argue that when trash becomes treasure, a new space for restoring nature and communities is created.
