Across Canada, communities and businesses are scaling circular food solutions.
Scaling Circular Food Systems in Canada: Stakeholder Workshop is a solutions-oriented and interactive event co-hosted by the National Zero Waste Council,
Circular Economy Leadership Canada,
Save-On-Foods,
Our Food Future, and the
Vancouver Economic Commission. Stakeholders from across Canada convened to learn about the state of the circular food system in Canada and then explore the opportunities and challenges to accelerating a circular transition in Canadian food systems.
This discussion paper set the context and provides important background information on the workshop:
Scaling Circular Food Systems in Canada: Stakeholder Workshop Discussion Paper.
Another key resource is the research report,
Circular Food Solutions in Canada: A Coast to Coast Landscape Scan (French), published in 2021 by the National Zero Waste Council and Guelph-Wellington’s Our Food Future. The report presents snapshots of circular food system solutions found in Canada, focusing mostly on examples which have not previously been profiled in published resources.
